Engine In The Frame

The newly rebuilt Hispano-Suiza 150 horsepower engine has just been mounted in the fuselage. Note the new exhaust headers. This radiator is the shorter OX-5 style. The Hisso radiator is longer and rounded on the bottom just like the top. On the back of the valve cover you can see a round bulge where the cam drive gear is located. A shaft driven by a gear on the crankshaft, turns the cam gear. Just below and behind the engine is the oil reservoir. Beneath that is the oil cooler.

Here is a head on view. The old prop is mounted, but later removed for refurbishing.
